Moroccan yoga retreat:

Reconnecting with playfulness

12 - 19 Dec 2026

A retreat in the heart of Morocco at the foot of the Atlas Mountains

Welcome to Bab Zouina

We are taking you to Bab Zouina (“beautiful door” in Moroccan), in the Ourika Valley—a little corner of paradise just three hours away from the bustling streets of Marrakech. An enchanting place, surrounded by olive trees and blooming gardens, living in harmony with the rhythm of nature. The purity of the air, the intoxicating scents, and the ochre tones of the earth will awaken your senses and invite you into a state of contemplation.

Reconnect to

playfulness

What if yoga could be less dogmatic and more playful? What if It could help us reconnect to the freedom we use to feel as a kid and foster more happiness in our life?

This retreat is about reconnecting to our capacity to wonder in front of simple things, to approach challenges with creativity and with humour and to find more lightness in our body, in our mind and our heart.

To help you find that kid in yourself again our retreat will include:

  • Workshops on arm balances and handstands

  • Practices around creative and fluid transitions in vinyasa flow

  • Mobility flows to help you create more space in your body and approach mouvement from a new angle.

  • Workshops on how to create a more playful life

  • With over 600 hours of training, and certified E-RYT200, RYT500, and YACEP, Julie has been practicing yoga for 10 years and teaching since 2019. Her approach blends tradition and modernity into a deeply therapeutic practice — one that seeks fluidity and lightness, with sequences crafted with precision, intention, and subtlety. She aims to bring a more therapeutic dimension into dynamic yoga, and often incorporates hands-on adjustments and massage to make the practice more individual and responsive to each student.

Naturally joyful and passionate, Julie shares yoga with a sense of lightness, compassion, and humility. Her sequences are thoughtfully designed to guide you into a deeper experience — mentally, energetically, and emotionally.

  • Maayke has been teaching yoga full-time for several years now. What began as a small spark of interest quickly grew into a passionate fire of curiosity, leading her on an ongoing journey of self-exploration and body-based practices.

Initially trained in the Netherlands by Vinyasa yoga expert Daphne Koken, she has since continued her education with various specialists in their respective fields. In addition to Vinyasa yoga, she also teaches Yin yoga and Pilates, finding value and importance in both ends of the movement spectrum.

Alongside these movement practices, she has explored more hands-on bodywork through Thai massage, and is currently studying structural integration (Rolfing) to deepen her understanding of how fascia and connective tissues influence the way we move and feel.
